Expanding Music Access to All
Dedham School of Music is proud to participate in Mass Cultural Council’s Card to Culture program in collaboration with the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Department of Public Health’s WIC Nutrition Program, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and hundreds of cultural organizations across Massachusetts by making cultural programming accessible to those for whom cost is a participation barrier.
Financial Aid and tuition assistance is available, even if you do not participate in the Card to Culture program. Our mission is to make music accessible for all, regardless of ability to pay.

Dedham School of Music doesn`t just offer a wide variety of classes, private lessons, and ensembles. We are also extremely active in the community! Are you ready to express yourself through digital music?
The Digital Music Making class is designed around the belief that creating music should be an exciting adventure, not a technical chore. We focus on teaching you digital music production through the styles and genres that inspire you—because when you`re crafting music that excites you, learning becomes something you look forward to.
In this class, you`ll learn to use Soundtrap`s intuitive interface to bring your musical ideas to life—from essential production concepts like arrangement and mixing to creating custom tracks and collaborating in real-time. Once you`ve mastered the fundamentals, you will tackle creative projects that challenge you to develop your unique production style.
Requirements: No prior musical experience is required—just your passion for music and desire to create.
Please note: You will need to bring your own laptop and headphones. Also, you will need a Soundtrap license, which is not included (Soundtrap cost is $16.99/month; info at www.soundtrap.com/pricing).
Cost: Tuition cost will be determined by the number of students in the class.

This course is suitable for beginners or those with some ukulele experience who want to learn more about playing Taylor Swift on the ukulele. Students will learn how to play several Taylor Swift songs on the ukulele, including "Shake It Off”, “Ready For It”, “You Belong With Me”, and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" among others. The course will focus on chords and strumming techniques used in each song. By the end of the course, students will have a solid foundation in playing Taylor Swift songs on the ukulele and the confidence to continue exploring their musical journey. Students will need their own ukulele.
Requirements: For beginners or those with some ukulele experience.
Cost: $333 - 9 sessions.

Piano Lessons
Discover the joy of the piano with personalized lessons. Our expert piano instructors will guide you through tailored instruction based on your experience level. Group Piano Classes for young children and adults as well as Collaborative Piano Sessions for teens or adults are also available. Piano lessons are offered on weekdays.
Guitar Lessons
Strum or pluck your way to musical mastery with private guitar instruction in all styles, including:
- Bass guitar
- Ukelele
- Mandolin
- Blues harmonica
Our expert guitar instructors are ready to guide you, no matter your preferred instrument or musical genre. Guitar lessons are offered on weekdays.

Find your rhythm and master the beat with lessons on drum set, marimba, bells, or other percussion instruments. Our private drum instructors will introduce you to the variety of percussion instruments. Percussion lessons are offered on weekdays.
