Non-Profit, Born Out of Respect for Music
The Dedham School of Music is a non-profit organization providing affordable, high-quality music instruction to students of all ages, abilities, and means to learn, play, and enjoy music. We offer private lessons on a variety of instruments and voice, as well as classes and ensembles designed to embrace multiple ages, skill levels, and interests. DSM has collaborated with schools and local programs to provide music education opportunities for students of all abilities and financial circumstances.
We take pride in contributing to the musical enrichment of students and residents of all ages and dedicate ourselves to serving Dedham and the surrounding communities. We are always working to continue to find and create ways to deliver on our mission. |
Our Mission
DSM provides an environment for people of all ages, ability, and means to learn, play, and enjoy music.
In addition to private music lessons and classes, Dedham School of Music supports several ensembles that gather and perform regularly. We support a Dedham Community Band that plays at community events, such as the Dedham Holiday Stroll. We support Bluegrass groups that jam monthly and are currently developing a drop in Jazz Jam. DSM also provides outreach to the underserved through our Singing Alive program and music instruction at Horizons, a summer camp that provides academic and enrichment opportunities to Boston-area youth from families with low incomes. Various concerts are also held throughout the year by our talented faculty, students, and members of the community.
