We’re very excited to announce a new Board Chair for the 2022-23 school year: Caroline Angel Burke. Caroline takes over for Mike Emery, who served as chair from 2019-2022. Congratulations and thank you, Caroline. Caroline Angel Burke is honored to be named Board Chair. Caroline, her husband Brian, and their kids Milo and Charlotte have been proud Dedham residents for over 15 years; she has served on the Dedham School of Music board since 2020. She joined the board because both of her kids have participated in and benefited from DSM music programs and lessons; her daughter currently loves learning piano with one of DSM's fantastic faculty members. When not singing in her choir at Church of the Good Shepherd or serving as Assistant Scoutmaster for Dedham Scout Troop 3G, Caroline serves as Director of Project Management at RLMG, an interactive and linear media company. "I had the great benefit of playing a musical instrument growing up. This exposed me to a whole world of different musical traditions, and got me to use my brain in many different ways than the cognitive learning at school," said Caroline. "Musical instruction and appreciation is something that all people should have access to, and this is core to the mission of Dedham School of Music. I'm thrilled to be a part of its leadership and can't wait to help expand its impact." Thank You On behalf of the Board of the Dedham School of Music, we would like to extend our profound thanks to Mike Emery, who has served as Board Chair for the past 3 years. Mike spearheaded efforts to ensure the long-term survival of the organization during the difficult years of COVID. His vision, energy, and humor brought us together during tough times and inspires us to take DSM's mission forward into the next phase of this organization. We are grateful that Mike will continue to serve with us, and more so will continue to share his own music with the world! Our first recital of the year was a success!
