John Monahan has played trumpet for over 40 years, starting as a student in the Dedham public schools. Traveling with the Boston College Marching Band, he has played in sold out stadiums throughout the eastern United States and with well know musicians such as James Brown and Harry Ellis Dixon.
After college John has continued to be active in the community music arena as a musician and board member with several organizations including the Westwood Community Big Band, the Quincy Symphony Orchestra under maestro Yoichi Udagawa, and most recently, with award winning conductor Micheal Korn and the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra. Through music John has made many lifelong friends including his wife of nearly 20 years. |
