Zack Bacak is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist, educator, and writer.
For 5 years Zack spent time in Florida working with saxophone pedagogs Bill Kennedy and Patrick Meighan at the Florida State University. Here, he was able to meet and perform with artists and groups such as Carmen Bradford (The Count Basie Orchestra), Ana Gasteyer (Saturday Night Live), Dick Oatts (The Village Vanguard Orchestra), Nick Finzer (Outside In Music) and the Tallahassee Jazz Symphony Orchestra. It was through these experience that he also branched into the role of a bandleader, performing original music and arrangements throughout the state. Following his graduation with both a BME and a BA in performance, Zack was selected as a member of the 2017 Disney All-American College Band, where he worked and performed with artists such as Gordon Goodwin, John Clayton, Wycliffe Gordon, Wayne Bergeron, and Steve Houghton. After a year of working in Southern California, Zack moved to Boston to start the next chapter of his musical career, where he enjoys both teaching and performing. |
