Happy Holidays! Just a reminder that DSM is closed for the holidays December 23rd through January 2nd. Our first term continues through January 10, 2022 and then we have a couple of weeks for make up lessons. Please schedule any makeups directly with your teacher. If you have no lessons to make up, consider taking an extra lesson or 2 before our new term begins on January 25, 2022 since students will have had a break from lessons during the holiday recess. A feel good story: One of our faculty members recently relayed the following: "I have two relatively new students who have been making great strides. One took a huge leap to learn a five-page song with a lot of sharps. The other is diligently learning about 3 new songs a week. They both have a very personal interest in music, and, as it turns out, they are great friends. I learned that they had a playdate and improvised duets together and made their own songs about monsters and heroes on the piano!" I love hearing stories like this. Congratulations to our performers at the December 12th recital! Consider a gift of music lessons or classes for someone special.
