Term 2 continues with much music making at Dedham School of Music.  Our term goes through May 27th, and then we have our lesson make-up weeks.  Please be in touch directly with your teacher to schedule make-ups.
(Note: Monday students may end later.)

Summer Lessons:

Please let us know if you plan to continue your lessons this summer. We need to know by April 15th. The Summer Session starts June 14th and runs through August 22nd. Consider taking lessons all summer, or purchase a 6 or 8 pack, or whatever works with your family's schedule this summer. 

Summer Groups:

Zack Bacak, Winds Faculty, will be leading a Jazz band Intensive for 1-2 weeks. We are collecting names of students interested in the jazz band to schedule it. 

Katie Jillson, Voice Faculty, will be running the Young Singers Workshop again during the summer. 

Aaron Jay Myers, Guitar Faculty, will be leading a Rock Fusion Group meeting weekly for 7 weeks. Acceptance into this group is at the discretion of the faculty.

Linnea Bardarson performed in a private concert at Dedham Community House as Pisces Duo with violinist Beth Welty performing works by Bach, Bartok, Debussy, Faure, Mozart, and Vaughan Williams.

Save the Dates!

March 25th, 2022 Concert:
Folk/Americana duo, the Dopplegangers, consisting of Kenny Raskin and RF Berks. Kenny is a world famous clown, actor and musician (He was LeFou on Broadway in Beauty and the Beast!) and a very funny and talented man indeed. Likewise, Francis Berks is a veteran singer songwriter. The concert is 7:30pm in the Parish Hall auditorium of First Church. For ticketing, see information on the First Church website:

First Church will also stage a concert on May 1st at 3pm by Calliope's Call Evolution.

June 15th, 2022:
Students from DSM will be performing as the opening act for a children's performance at the Summer Concert Series at the Endicott Estates. Please let your teacher know if you are interested in performing that evening.

June 22, 2022:
The Dedham Community Band and Bluegrass groups will be performing at the Endicott Estate Summer Concert Series put on by one of our supporters, the Dedham Junior Women's Club.

Congratulations to our performers at our March 6th Recital.  Our next recital is March 27th.  We thank our recital sponsor Dedham Savings as well as support for our Harmony Fund for financial aid from The Dedham Cultural Council and the Lauren Dunn Astley Foundation. Many thanks also to First Church for hosting our recitals and Dedham TV for recording them.
